It's all relative to the school, subject and teacher, but My son gets the perfect amount of homeworkRead More in most cases and is doing very well in school. Kid works ahead a week or 2 at times. I totally disagree with homework not having a difference in schoolwork for 3 reasons. 1. Homework re-enforces supervise work done at school. 2. practice makes perfect. 3. Homework to a certain extent teaches kids responsibilty and time management skill they might not learn otherwise.

This may take the prize for the most frivolous lawsuit filed in recent history. To some people,Read More everything is race based if there are some deep pockets in the background. It is preposterous that any school district would use race as a criterion for closing or opening schools.

We are wanting to connect with other parents of kids with food allergies to discuss ways we can keepRead More our school as safe as possible for our kids. It seems crazy that there is zero tolerance for violence but students are allowed to bring food to school that can kill other children.

I agree, Last yr I asked my child's teacher if any child had food allergies when it our time toRead More bring snack, the replys I was given was "I don't know, I don't think so" Scary.. If my child had a food allergy I would make them wear a bracelet that states so and inform the teacher and always remind everyone.
Natalie Giorgi of Carmichael recently died after taking a bite of a dessert made with peanut butter. She had a peanut allergy.

Not sure why schools and camps are not equipped with epi pens. It's a shame that school districtsRead More are taking this stance.

How important are peanuts to school lunches in comparison to the life of a child? I think that SanRead More Juan Unified should follow Elk Groves example.

Yes, San Juan should discontinue serving peanuts in all school meals. Further, anything containingRead More peanuts or peanut oil should be eliminated also. Who would know, that the peanut shock could happen THAT fast - the loss of one child is too many. I doubt that having EPI pens available is an answer. They would probably be secured or locked up far away from where they were needed.

I would hardly call a CA rank of 221 and a college readiness of 31.9 rating good news. DelRead More Campo--wow.
