Alcohol Ban on American River Set for Rafting Gone Wild Event Saturday

Last year, 23 people were arrested during the event.

Alcohol will be restricted Saturday on the American River in preparation for an "unsafe" Rafting Gone Wild event

Sacramento County officials issued an alcohol restriction for the American River Parkway from Hazel Avenue to Watt Avenue from Fair Oaks to the Rosemont area for July 13. 

"In 2012, the Rafting Gone Wild event resulted in multiple arrests, destruction of public and private property, and presented a significant threat to the safety of the public and our community. Based on information obtained from multiple sources, the Department of Regional Parks anticipates similar unsafe circumstances during this year’s event," according to the press release.
